The Magical Christmas Caroling Truck

Christmas 2001 Press Release

An Unexplainable Christmas Experience!

Toluca Lake and North Hollywood Welcomes
The Magical Christmas Caroling Truck

Toluca Lake, CA, December 24, 2001 - A local caroling tradition since 1984, The Magical Christmas Caroling Truck is revving its engine, and getting in gear to truck into your neighborhood on Christmas Eve.

The "magical truck" is a 45-foot tractor-trailer transformed into an enchanting Christmas float decked out with thousands of lights, and equipped with a 6,000-watt sound system. Over 200 singers and dancers will serenade local residents with favorite carols, while Santa makes his rounds on his souped-up, all-weather sleigh.

The crew that creates this every year is made up of a diverse collaboration of trades people, including local audio engineers, carpenters, artists, electricians, graphic designers, truck drivers, etc.

"It's really amazing how this impacts our neighborhood," comments Ken Rich, Christmas Truck driver and local resident. "It's worth all the time that we put into this when we see the response from everyone as we drive down their street".

The support of all the volunteers, neighbors, and local businesses, has enabled the truck to continue to touch lives in a very unique way for 18 consecutive years.

"I've tried to explain this several times to people who have not seen it… but it's impossible to convey," said Bob Barton, a local resident. "It's something that you have to experience".

On Christmas Eve, the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck can be seen in the streets of Toluca Lake and North Hollywood between dusk and eleven PM, rain or shine. Once the truck is in your area, you can tune your radio to 88.3 FM to hear the music. The route covers the neighborhoods between Tujunga and Clyborne Avenues (west/east borders) and Magnolia Blvd. and Riverside Drive. (north/south borders).
